dinner at Nevada; I met with S. V. White and family on the train, he came and spoke to me, and very kindly offered to get me a seat in the coach to Des Moines and attended to my baggage, and did every thing in his power to make me comfortable.  He and his wife and wife's sister had been on a trip to the White Mts and to Boston and [illegible].  I got into Des Moines Saturday evening at 8 1/2 O'clock; Mrs Bansman had sent one of the boys down to the Blodgett House to watch for me, and when the stage stopped some one called out "is Mrs Garrett in there" so I went right up to see Merce her mother is a real nice old lady she has been with her all summer.
